Zeo + Apnea Screening = A New Way to Sleep Better

“Oh, you work for a sleep company.  Can your product tell me if I have sleep apnea?”

This is usually question #1 at parties–and with good reason.  Many people have heard a lot about sleep apnea–a serious sleep-related breathing disorder estimated to affect at least 10% of the population but is only diagnosed in less than 1%– especially due to the fact that it often (but not always) goes hand in hand with health, wellness, and your waistline.  If you’re male and you’ve admitted to your doctor that you snore at night, you may have even been told to “keep an eye out” for any feelings of exhaustion during the day.

We all know by now that Zeo is not a medical device – we’re not in the business of diagnosing or treating sleep disorders. However, this isn’t just a disclaimer that some lawyer has made us plaster everywhere – it’s a responsible message that we want people to understand. Zeo can do a lot of good, but it’s not a replacement for medical stuff.

That doesn’t mean that we don’t know a thing or two about sleep disorders, or that we can’t share what we know with you or lend a hand from time to time. To that end, we just wanted to let you know about a simple sleep apnea screener that Watermark Medical helped us put together.

If you’d like to find out if you may be at risk for sleep apnea, you can take this quick questionnaire here. If it turns out that you’re at risk, you can opt-in to get information from Watermark about getting set up with a sleep apnea diagnosis test.

The questionnaire only takes a couple minutes to fill out and we won’t share this data with anyone except Watermark.  Oh, and no one will contact you unless you choose to get more information. Scouts’ honor.

If you do give it a run,  let us know what you think.  Include any ways you think we can improve it, or simply let us know if there are things we can help out with. Until then, breath deeply, and sleep well.

People already know if they have bad sleep. It is what causes the bad sleep that they need to find out.. There are about eighty-two different sleep disorders. It seems this device will only tell you about your sleep pattern. I would like to hook up one of my PSG patients with a full setup along with your device and see if the hypnograms match up. This device will not be able to diagnose apnea, PLMs, seizures, REM behavior disorder, or Narcolepsy. So if people do use this device, they should still get tested through an accredited sleep center.

Wbe a patient can be diagnoses with sleep apnea, the ompliance with treat
ENT is poor. If you cam ow that, you can figure the cause. A simple ministering device that turns redid sleep is bad and green. If good is. needed. The simpler the better. This. Might STEVE that purpose. If the sleep apnea is not being treated successfully it
will reflect in the ZQ and the Watermark Test can be done. It is a true manage
ENT tool. Joel Adams Md, FCCP
