‘Twas the night before Zeo, and all through our lair,
Not a creature was sleeping, not even a bear.
The ceiling above us we stared at with glare,
In hopes that the Sandman soon would be there.
The cats and the dog, all strewn on our bed,
One of them sleeping on top of my head.
I, with my snoring, and Mom with her blues,
Had just settled down for a long winter’s snooze.
When out of the dark, there arose such a chatter,
I sprang from the bed, to see what’s the matter.
To my dear Mother’s side, I arrived in a leap,
To find it was HER, just counting some sheep!
The glow from the street light, blinded my eyes,
The shows on TV made me crave Apple Pies.
When, what to my bloodshot eyes should appear,
“FOUR” in the morning! I’ll ne’er sleep, I now feared!
With many turns of my body, from this to that side,
I knew in a moment, there was no place to hide!
If there ever was hope for one good night’s sleep,
It was time I got busy, counting those sheep!
“Now Steve-O! Now, Moose! Now, Kuj and P-Dilly!
On, Andi and Rhiannon! On, Derek and Emily!
Now, Surabhi! Now, Owen and dear bookkeeper Sue!
Now count away! Count the sheep! Count, all of you!
As the clock ticked by slowly and I asked myself “WHY?”,
I feared I’d be ‘wake ALWAYS, and started to cry.
All kinds of thoughts danced around in my head,
I remember once thinking, “I hate going to bed!”
And then in a moment, a thought came to me,
The root of my problem was that I had to pee!
As I threw off the covers, and went for the door,
The person beside me started to snore!
And then, in a hurry, I tripped on a gift,
Hurting my toe and causing a rift.
As I danced on one foot, and was jumping around,
On the floor, was a Zeo, not making a sound.
It looked like a clock, all shiny and new,
But what it could DO, I had not a CLUE!
Inside was magic, and what it could track,
It was better than cookies or a mid-winter snack!
Myst’ries of my sleep, it held in its glow,
How it knew about that, I’ll never quite know!
It had a pretty face and a calming jingle,
And when it would ring, it would give me a tingle!
It was useful and fun, a great little Coach,
And the things it would teach me, beyond all reproach!
In the morning when awoke by its quiet little beep,
I could answer the question, “Just how well did I sleep?”
It says not a thing, but goes straight to work,
Recording lots o’ data, more than a clerk!
My responsibilities I must not shirk,
But with Zeo’s help, I am sure this can work!
I crawled back to bed, gave my Zeo a wink,
Closed up my eyes and fell asleep in a blink!
But I heard from a distance, somewhere quite deep,
“Happy Holidays from Zeo, and to all a Good Sleep!”

This little piece of holiday charm is from Audrey, who is in charge of Human Resources at Zeo. We knew that it had to be on the blog as soon as she emailed it out to the office. She makes sure we have benefits and tries to keep us from getting too grumpy. Thankfully, she’s great at what she does.
