If you give a person a Zeo, they’re going to want to know how it works.
Okay, fair enough. We gave you this post and created this info page.
And you wanted more. Also fair. We then went into greater detail in this and this Expert Answer, as well as in interviews and direct video responses like this and this.
But there was still more. Some wanted to know how accurate Zeo was. Others wanted to know why they had to wear a headband. More than a few of you wondered about other ways of measuring sleep. And everyone wanted a better idea of what exactly was happens while you slept.
With such an influx (and repetition) of questions, we knew we had some ‘splaning to do. So we decided to let Steve@Zeo give a presentation at a recent QS meetup to do just that. Since he did such a great job at parsing the science we filmed it and made it into a mini-series, just for you loyal Zeolots.
ZTV Presents “Behind the Headband: The Inner Science of Zeo”
Starting today–and continuing until Memorial Day–we’ll be presenting a video series call “Behind the Headband: The Inner Science of Zeo”. Each mini-episode addresses common user questions about how Zeo works, what exactly is sleep, how do you measure it, and the like, all in plain English, with no mumbo-jumbo.
The experts said accurate, in-home sleep monitoring was just science fiction–until they met Zeo.
The episodes will premiere first on Zeo’s YouTube channel (subscribe if you want to see it sooner!), and then here on Zeology before going out into the wide world of Facebook and Twitter.
Think of this series as your one-stop-shop to understanding Zeo–and feel free to share it with others who want to know more. Trying to explain Zeo to your doc or to your Dad? Have them click here to learn more, and watch that glossed over look give way to “ah-ha.”
Where You Come In
Ultimately, we did this to help answer your questions about Zeo. The catch is we can only know if we did it right if you tell us. Comment below, as well as underneath the video itself on YouTube, or post via Facebook and Twitter (@Zeo).
Want more videos like this? Tell us! Remember, we can only make your Zeo experience better if you tell us in the first place, so don’t be shy. If you’ve never commented at all on Zeology, do so today–and thank you!
And, of course loyal readers & viewers, stay tuned!

This is great–but the sound quality of the video made it pretty difficult to hear. For future videos it will be even better if the speaker had a microphone or something to up the audio quality.
Hi Danny,
Apologies about that. There were some technical issues early on–that’s all the clicking noise you hear at the beginning–but the later videos won’t have that.
All that said, would you have preferred subtitles at the bottom of the video or even a full transcript of Steve@Zeo’s talk?
Thanks for commenting!
I really appreciate these informational guides but I confess that I can hardly hear any of Steve’s language, so I miss out seriously. I full transcript would be terrific for me.

HI Grahame,
I’m happy to report that we’ve now have a transcript and captions up on all 4 of our Behind the Headband videos. Just a note of caution: YouTube’s caption & transcription service isn’t the greatest in terms of time sync, but if you click on the “Interactive Transcript” button at the bottom of the video on our YouTube page, you can see the full text.
Apologies for any early frustrations and I hope this helps!
Cheers,
-Andi@Zeo
